James Arness from Gunsmoke!

This is a Limited Edition Collector's Series Best of the West 9" Gunsmoke Matt Dillon doll made by Premiere in 1997. This is one of 12,000 made. This multi-Emmy Award winning series premiered in 1955 after having been a long-running radio show, introducing American TV audiences to a whole new version of the saga of the American West. In what came to be known as the first "Adult Western," the series realistically captured the life and times of the citizens of Dodge City, Kansas in the 1880's. After 20 years, it had managed to outlive all of the other Western TV shows that it had inspired, and is still honored as the longest running TV show in the history of television. This doll is still mint and sealed in the original package. There are some light creases and dings in the box, but the window is clear and unbroken and the package is still sealed. There is a flap on the back with Velcro closures, when opened you'll find a bio of the character and show that the doll represents. Matt Dillon was played by James Arness, and the doll is a very good representation of his character. Mint in original box. By Exclusive Premiere before their demise. About 10" tall.
