ROWDY YATES - A Rawhide original

This terrific limited edition and hard to find rendition is exceptional. This is a Limited Edition Collector's Series Best of the West 9" Rawhide Rowdy Yates doll made by Premiere in 1997. First aired in 1959, this series was an unusually realistic depiction of the hard-scrabble lives of the original cowboys, those men who drove the cattle herds up the old Chisholm Trail to the railheads in the Midwest. It was the first time American TV audiences heard what this lifestyle was really like, the colorful language and the harsh day-to-day existence unique to these cattle drives. During the last year of the series, in 1965, a matured Rowdy Yates became the trail boss, and he remains one of the most popular characters in all of TV and movie Westerns. This doll is still mint and sealed in the original package. There are some light creases and dings in the box, but the window is clear and unbroken and the package is still sealed. There is a flap on the back with Velcro closures, when opened you'll find a bio of the character and show that the doll represents. Rowdy Yates was played by Clint Eastwood, and the doll is a very good representation of his character. New in box this 10+" doll looks like a young Clint all the way.
