Description:

This hard fighting regiment was typical of the Confederate armies line regiments. Well trained, courageous and determined in its cause. The 53rd Georgia was armed with the large bore 42 musket, less accurate than its rifled cousins were but far deadlier at close range. Firing 'buck and ball' ammunition, at close range volley was sure to punish any foe that came within close reach.
